The Bearcat Ambassadors from Henrietta High School had a unique opportunity to witness firsthand how their local school district secures funding for future projects. The students attended a municipal bond sale at Hilltop Securities, gaining valuable insight into the financial mechanisms that make their education possible. "Today's been a really exciting day for our students because they've had the opportunity to come to Hilltop Securities to see what happens when the school district goes out for a bond sale," said Jaime Clark, Superintendent of Henrietta ISD. The event provided a practical experience for students to see the direct impact of their studies on real-world applications. The bond sale was the first series in the May 2024 bond, and the day was filled with learning opportunities. Students observed as individual orders were placed and received a comprehensive overview of municipal bonds, the roles of underwriters, financial advisors, and legal counsel. "This is an exceptional opportunity for students to see how their local tax dollars are put to use and because they're the beneficiaries of the resources. It's a full circle moment for them," said Clark. For students like Magee Fain, the experience was eye-opening. "It was incredible to see how bonds are actually sold. We’ve learned about these concepts in class, but seeing it in action really brought it to life," Fain said. The hands-on experience provided clarity on complex terminology and processes that had previously been abstract concepts in the classroom. The visit also served as a reminder of the importance of community support in the district's success. "We talked about the facilities that they use and how the May 2024 bond funds will impact students for years to come. This brings a real practical experience to see where it all starts and how it provides money to the school district, but ultimately, we also get to talk about it all starts with our community," Clark added. Gratitude towards the community was a recurring theme throughout the day. Charli McCasland, another student, expressed deep appreciation for the voters who supported the bond initiative. "It’s great to know that the community’s support will benefit future students. I’m thankful for everyone who made this possible," McCasland shared. The bond sale not only reinforced the connection between classroom learning and real-world applications but also highlighted the community's role in shaping the future of Henrietta ISD. "From me and everyone inside Henrietta ISD, we are deeply grateful to our voters who approved our bond," said Clark. "This means that our students for the next 30, 40, 50 years will have world-class resources and facilities to ensure that the future of Henrietta ISD is secure." Clark expressed deep appreciation to both the community and everyone who contributed to making the educational experience possible. "We are truly grateful to the Henrietta ISD community for their support in passing the May 2024 bond. Your participation in local elections ensures our district can continue to grow and improve. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hilltop Securities for giving our students the chance to learn directly from industry professionals about the bond market. Your investment in our students and their education is invaluable." The bond sale was more than just a financial transaction; it was a day of learning, gratitude, and community connection, reminding everyone involved of the vital role they play in the future of Henrietta ISD.

Parents of Kindergarteners!! Join us for breakfast & coffee after you walk your kiddo to their class on the first day of school! Teachers request that after you check into the front office to get your visitor's badge (bring your driver's license with you), walk your student to pick up their breakfast, then to the Kindergarten rooms. It is best to say a quick "see you after school! Have a great day!", quick hug, then join us in the Elementary School library for breakfast. We hope you will join us! It will be super casual and a time to visit with other parents.
