Hello! I’m Melissa Silva and I am the Henrietta Elementary principal.  

I grew up in Wichita Falls where I graduated from Rider High School. I then attended Midwestern State University and in 2004 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with a teaching certificate in English, Language Arts, and Reading. 

For the last 19 years I have serve at Wichita Falls Independent School District. The first 13 of those years I spent as an English teacher at Wichita Falls High School. After realizing that I wanted to step into the leadership role, I enrolled at Lamar University and  received my Master’s in Educational Leadership. In 2017, I was hired to be the Assistant Principal at Lamar Elementary where I served as the the Assistant Principal until 2021. I then transferred to Kirby Middle School and I have been serving as the Assistant Principal there for the past two years.

I am married to Jose Silva and we have 4 children; Jesus, Leslie, Litzie, and Andy. We also have one grandbaby named Julian.
